Biography
Ebrahim Raisi was born on December 14, 1960, in the Noghan District of Mashhad, in the Imperial State of Iran. Raisi came from a family of clerics; his father, Seyed Haji, was a cleric and descended from Hussaini. He had a relationship with Ali ibn Husayn Zayn al-Abidin Sayyids.
Raisi attended the “Javadiyeh school” for his primary education before enrolling in the Hawza, an Islamic seminary. In 1975, Raisi attended the “Ayatollah Boroujerdi School” to finish his studies at Qom Seminary. It has been disputed if he graduated with a PhD in private law from Motahari University as he has stated.
Raisi’s legal career started when he was appointed a prosecutor in Karaj. He later served as the prosecutor for the Iranian city of Hamadan Province. In 1985, he moved to Tehran as the deputy prosecutor, where he now handles legal matters related to other provinces such as Kermanshah, Lorestan, and Semnan. He was a member of the prosecution committee during the 1988 killing of Iranian political inmates, which has implications for his legal career. Finally, upon the death of Ruhollah Khomeini, Raisi was chosen by Mohammad Yazdi to take up the position of Tehran’s prosecutor.
He served as Tehran Prosecutor for five years before being appointed Iran’s Deputy Chief Justice in 2004 . He remained in that role until 2024. Then, from 2014 to 2016, he served as Attorney General. From 2019 until 2021, he also served as Iran’s Chief Justice before starting his political career.
Raisi joined the 2017 presidential election on behalf of the hardline Islamic Revolution Forces (JAMNA) Front of Islamic Revolution. Although the Front of Islamic Revolution Stability supported him, Rouhani emerged victorious in the election.
In 2021, he ran for president once more and received 63% of the vote to win. Media estimates state that over 3.7 million ballots were deemed illegitimate during his candidacy, resulting in Raisi’s win.

At first, Wactor presumably thought the men were towing his car as he was escorting a coworker to her car when he noticed them. Reportedly, Wactor was shot by one of the men trying to take the converter after realizing what was going on and protecting his colleague with his body.
Wactor was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. However, he was working as a bartender at the time of his death.
